In her documentary film, Dr. Vandana Shiva was telling us the importance to know about each person has their own mission in their lives. Each missions through our daily life of happiness.
When I was spending time with her in India, I was deeply inspired by every words she said. I tried to document everything in my sketchbook with writings and drawings. Among those pages I found a drawing of her profile as she was taking power nap right next to me. It reminded me how one person could have unlimited possibilities as one tiny seed would have unlimited abundance. Metaphors of freedom of seeds and freedom of people. Miraculous realities.

ドキュメンタリー映画 #命の種を抱きしめて (#辻信一 氏監督) の中で、ヴァンダナ・シヴァ博士は「人は一人一人が日々の幸せを通し、自分が生きている役割を知ることが大切」と人の命の尊厳を種の命の権利に例えてお話ししていました。

ヴァンダナ博士の発言にはどれも滋養と重みがあって、わたしはインドで数日間共に過ごさせていただいたとき、彼女の言葉を片っ端から記録していました。その懐かしいスケッチブックを久しぶりに見ていたら、あの時、わたしの横で仮眠をとっていた彼女の寝顔のスケッチがありました。この日から4年、今日もヴァンダナ・シヴァという一粒の種は、忙しく世界中を飛び回り、「彼女の役割」を通して人々に「自分の役割」をインスパイアしているのでしょう。小さな一粒の種の豊かな可能性と、一人の人間の無限大の可能性。その連鎖。すごいなあ、と、先日のトークのあと、わたしはそんなことを思っています。
