After guiding at the Valle Arpa snowcat operation and in the Farellones area earlier this South American winter, @drewtabke returned for a trip with more personal goals in mind. Today, we'll feature Tabke's report on his recent Chilean adventure.
"A solid early-season snowpack was in place, the weather was sunny and stable; ideal conditions to have a go at some big mountains. I met up with my local friends Chopo Diaz and Sebastian Goñi, as well as Jackson Hole local and long-time South American ski partner of mine, @GriffPost. We organized a helicopter lift from the local football field near Chopo's house in Farellones to a base camp at around 14,000' beneath the daunting Cerro Altar and the beautiful, ice-clad Cerro La Paloma."
