Keepers found a colorful way to get Mac, our green-winged macaw, to exercise his curiosity and natural foraging behaviors. Mac maneuvers a paint brush made from a recycled paper towel tube and leaves, using his tongue, beak, and feet to reach the peanut butter treat smeared inside. Keepers offer Mac new colors, painting items, and brush designs to keep these sessions fresh and engaging. Socializing, too, builds trust between Mac and his keepers so they can best care for him. #ZooEnrichment
