Thousands of Indian Hindus come out to witness the ganga aarti (river worshiping ceremony) at the Har-Ki-Pairi Ghat located along the sacred Ganges river in the holy city of Haridwar, India. It is believed that Vishnu is said to have dropped some heavenly nectar and left a footprint, making this the most holiest place along the Ganges river.

Have had the humbling privilege to bear witness upon countless moments, unfathomable events, yet this evening in Haridwar along the sacred Ganges stands out profoundly. Never had I seen such beautiful symphony of humanity play out, giving, praying, gesticulating amidst the cacophony of more than one million fellow human beings, shaped in vision by waning light of early evening blues, glowing in warmth by the fire of devotion.
