In celebration of the 2016 @オリンピック, opening today in Rio, we’re getting in the spirit with one of the earliest Olympic photographs of the first #teamusa. Three Americans, two of them Olympians themselves, took photographs at the first modern Olympic Games in 1896. This photo was likely taken by #ThomasPelhamCurtis, who was the winner of the 110-meter hurdles. Accompanying Curtis was fellow Olympic champion and photographer, #SumnerPaine. The third American taking photographs at the first modern Olympics was the professional #BurtonHolmes, but unfortunately his pictures were lost through deterioration. #whoshotsports #fbf ??
