Today and tomorrow I am pleased to be taking over Nat Geo Creative and sharing images from my “LIFE: A Journey Through Time” a ten-year project celebrating the wonder of life on Earth.

Photo by @FransLanting: Green filaments of ancient bacteria growing on a geyser spewing boiling water into the morning sky in Nevada’s Great Basin are illuminated by my strobe. The conditions found at hot springs and geysers have led many scientists to believe that life may have originally evolved in similar places on early Earth. This is one of the signature images for my project “LIFE: A Journey Through Time.” For the 10th anniversary of LIFE, it will be performed at Chicago’s Grant Park Music Festival on July 20, 2016. For those of you who can’t be there, I have posted several AV clips from the symphony at @FransLanting.
