Have you ever had that moment in life when things are going so poorly that you wish you could stop time or even better, turn back the clock? I was having these thoughts while a 7000 pound breeding elephant seal decided that he wanted me out of his territory. I had been watching these massive mammals actually crush and drown 1500 pound breeding female seals all week and I knew my outlook was not promising. My good friend and expedition partner @goranehlme quickly grabbed this photo and then distracted this seal while I climbed back onto the rocks. This is not easy while wearing long flippers. I knew I had messed up and rested on the rocks, numb to the core but was also full of gratitude for this cool seal who spared me my life and an even cooler friend for always having my back.
