Photo by @Tim Laman. It’s an amazing feeling to stand where perhaps no human has ever been before. That’s what I felt when making this picture looking up at the forest of the Foja Mountains, where I had the honor to be part of a scientific exploration team a few years back. We were dropped in by helicopter to this uninhabited mountain range of primary forest, and anywhere you walked, could have been ground un-trod by humans. There are still poorly explored places on this planet, despite what you may hear, and the big island of New Guinea, where these forests are, still has many of them. #Indonesia, #IndonesiaBiodiversity, #Papua, #FojaMountains, @thephotosociety, @natgeocreative, @Tim Laman.
