Yellowstone // A black wolf's piercing eyes cut through the dusk on a fall evening in Yellowstone. The name gray wolf can sometimes be misleading since their coat color can carry from white to black. Genetics shows the black coat color is a result of wild wolves interbreeding with domestic wolf-dogs somewhere around 15,000-40,000 years ago. In Yellowstone, roughly half the wolves are considered black. Which color wolf would you like to see - black, white or gray?
