PS Cinco de Mayo commemorates the triumph of the Mexican army at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. This victory occurred over 50 years after Mexico's Independence Day, which is celebrated on September 16. Many cultural celebrations are misinterpreted (Thanksgiving, St Patrick's day, Halloween to name a few!) and while educating others is a good thing perpetuating hate and bullying is not. I didn't mean any offense - why would anyone assume so? Be kind. All the time.
