Photo by: @Robert Clark // The wing of a #LesserSnowGoose, which is a far migrating member of the Anserini group of White Geese. The photo shows the birds high-altitude slotted wing which allows the goose to fly long distances with high efficiency with very low cost in energy. The feather projection on the top- right portion of the image is a small "thumb" that the bird used to change the way that wind passes over it's wing, allowing the bird to alter its angle of flight.
