The basement of the #Tehran Museum of Contemporary #Art holds treasures that rival the greatest museums in the world. Row and rows of #Picasso, #Renoir, #Warhol, Bacon, Chagalle are hidden away. The pieces were collected when Queen Farah Pahlavi, wife of the Shah of #Iran escaped the country in the 70's and left the art behind. It’s been kept in this basement since 1979, but no one knows exactly why. Our team was only allowed to shoot with their phones. There is no public catalog of the works and the museum only displays one at a time. Michelle Caruso-Cabrera is reporting on the ground in Iran all week. (? producer Katie Slaman)
