NGS Grantee Devlin takes in the Butler Wash panel along the San Juan River. Devlin and I are spending a week in the American West searching for the oldest art in North America. This panel dates from the Basket Maker period starting around 1500 BC. While this art is not terribly old by even US standards it is one of the most impressive pieces of in the American Southwest.
