Today's my birthday:
March 18th, 1972, I... Dane "Sold Out Madison Square Garden" Cook was born in a government lab surrounded by a think tank of super brained humans hell bent on creating a "relatively creative white male with the ability to deliver a powerful sermon of humor based topics, yet still have the fragile heart of a police officers wife and although physically he should be built like the ark of Noah upgraded with vibranium panels shielding it from the elements, he should have the self esteem of a hammock at a fattest man contest." I have so many people to thank for helping me get to where I guess I belong, starting with my mother and father. Donna, my mom, my motivator, my champion, my compass & my best friend. George, my pops, my "don't tell me, show me," my Red Sox curse breaking father, my late believer but proudest new member. Courtney, my sister, my friend, my heart.
Thanks to all my best friends, former best friends, terrible friends that still allowed some learning to happen. You all matter(ed). My ex girlfriends! Some were there before I was an international record breaking super star, some where there during, some were never there but I guess technically they were there, some were just passing through and some just smiled a nice smile at me once and that meant a lot. Mostly thank you all my exs for the hours and hours of material. We may have had our "ups and downs" but hopefully the ones you remember are under the sheets (rimshot). I could go on and on and on. I am grateful. I am mindful. I am appreciative, I am determined, I am constantly excited for tomorrow and what it could bring or what I could bring to someone elses life with my creativity.
