Pope Francis received a book of 10 Instagram photographs yesterday when the app's co-founder, Kevin Systrom, met with him at the Vatican to talk about the power of photography and how it can "unite people across borders, cultures and generations.” The handmade book included this photo by National Geographic photographer Stephanie Sinclair @stephsinclairpix, made #onassignment for @ナショナルジオグラフィック for a global story on the issue of child marriage. She later founded the nonprofit @tooyoungtowed, whose mission is to protect girls’ rights and end child marriage.
