Foxes living in coastal areas often patrol the intertidal zone, searching for food that has been washed ashore. Close to my base camp on the Varanger-peninsula in Norway, a dead porpoise stranded on a beach, where a fox made his visit in the middle of the day. The fox ignored my presence when I first met him and I thought I would see him in the following days, but he never turned up again. The unique landscape behind the fox is dominated by sedimentary rocks projecting vertically into the air.
