To mark Heuer's selection as the official timekeeper of the 1980 Olympic Winter Games, in Lake Placid, New York, the company produced a special version of the Microsplit LCD stopwatch (Reference 231). This Olympic stopwatch provided 1/100 of a second read-out, with split second functions and 0.001 percent accuracy, and was offered throughout the year 1980.
