1939 BRAILLE: The first touch-to-read pocket watch was manufactured at the request of the Imperial Household Agency. The watches were originally commissioned as imperial gifts from the Empress to disabled former servicemen. This model pictured is a faithful reproduction of the original design, greatly enhanced with a better performance and easier handling. This pocket watch is currently featured at the Seiko Boutique in NYC today until 7pm and through the month of December in our Historical Collection.
