Photo by @mike_hettwer - BUILDING A DINOSAUR - This Spinosaur was recently rediscovered in Morocco after the previous one was blown up in World War II during Allied bombing raids on Germany. It’s the biggest carnivore to ever walk the earth and at 49 feet in length, much longer than a T. Rex. Spinosaurus Aegyptiacus was a unique swimming dinosaur and lived 100 million years ago.

This photo was made at Research Casting International, east of Toronto, Canada. Each individual bone is cast or 3-D printed and then welded to a skeleton frame. The Spinosaur is one of the first all-digital dinosaurs ever produced and is part of a worldwide National Geographic touring exhibit. A film on its discovery and reconstruction, Bigger than T. Rex, was featured on a NOVA/ Nat Geo special on PBS in the US.
