Photo @lucalocatelliphoto The Paris Climate Conference is going on in Paris and the debate is open about what could be the way to produce energy in the future and cool our planet. I shoot this photo on assignment for @ナショナルジオグラフィック in Germany where a Nuclear Power Plant was transformed in a ride. The nuclear reactor at Kalkar was finished just before the 1986 explosion at Chernobyl, Ukraine—and never used. It’s now an amusement park with a ride in what would have been the cooling tower. Fear of nuclear power spurred Germany’s transition and by 2050 Germany aims to be a new kind of wonderland—an industrial country that uses half as much energy as before and gets at least 80 percent from renewables.
