#ClaudeMonet is among the artists who exerted the greatest influence on #FranciscoOller during his final French sojourn. The two artists shared similar techniques and processes, including their embrace of plein air (out-of-doors) painting. Often painting from a flat-bottomed studio boat, Monet spent his 60-year career capturing the effect of shifting light of the Seine River in pastel-hued brushstrokes—as seen in The Islets at Port-Villez.
