@Tim Laman on the Mengkutup River in Borneo (Central Kalimantan, Indonesia) on the way to photograph orangutans in the smoke with team member Wahyu Susanto (@waysusanto). We had to wear masks to protect our lungs from the smoke. Not exactly my dream conditions for wildlife photography, but I felt this was a very important story to cover. And this is where I got the image in the previous post of the orangutans in the smoke. I can’t tell you how frustrating all the burning forest is to see, after I have spent so many years of my life celebrating the wonderful biodiversity of Indonesia.
