Satellite imagery indicates that the eye of Hurricane #Patricia made landfall around 4:15PM Pacific Daylight Time roughly 50 miles west-northwest of Manzanillo, Mexico. Maximum sustained wind was estimated to be 165mph which, while down from earlier in the day, is still exceptionally destructive. Patricia should rapidly weaken in the next 12-18 hours as it interacts with the mountainous terrain of Mexico, although extraordinarily heavy rain will continue to be a problem even as the storm weakens. // Image: @noaa
