Photograph by @paulnicklen // I lived alone on the tundra in the Canadian high Arctic for 3 months in 1994. I had just left my job as a wildlife biologist and my dream was to someday work for @ナショナルジオグラフィック. It was one of the most beautiful and wonderful experiences of my life. The pictures never came close to capturing the power and importance of this journey, however, near the end of the trip, I managed to spend a few minutes with this tundra wolf. He was sleeping in a bed of lupine flowers when I found him and then he stared through me, filling me with excitement and #gratitude.
