Most people see chewing gum on the ground as a nuisance to avoid. Not Sanne Couprie (@chewingscum), who documents every sticky blob he finds. “Each one is unique and intriguing,” says Sanne, a photographer in Amsterdam who is drawn to gum’s "after-mouth life" – the dents and colors it acquires once left on the ground. “For me the streets are packed with chewing scum, unseen and underappreciated, but hidden treasures that keep triggering my curiosity as a photographer.” Photo by @chewingscum
