Photo by @chamiltonjames (Charlie Hamilton James) A pine grosbeak pics berries in the winter snow in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The grosbeaks would regularly visit the tree outside my front door along with moose, mule deer and grouse; even though the house was located right in the middle of the town of Jackson. Next year National Geographic Magazine starts a series on the world’s national parks. This image was shot as part of a full issue special on Yellowstone National Park and the Greater Yellowstone Eco-system. I will be in Jackson Hole on October the 8th talking about this project at the Shift Festival (shiftjh.org) along with legendary writer David Quammen.
