Almost 100 years ago, a historic flag came to the @スミソニアン博物館's collection. Already in bad shape, it waited for the right combination of conservation expertise and resources to take on its conservation. Just removing it from the envelope it came in could potentially make the damage worse. (No pressure!) Our conservation lab just completed the daunting process, so stay tuned for a few photos from the lab.
