"As an avid mountain hiker but a definite non-climber, I stood at the base of #MountNimbus in BC's Purcell Mountain Range and thought there was no way I could get to the top using only my own two hands and feet. Truthfully? On the way up there were several moments when primal fear kicked in, but with every step I knew more firmly that nothing would stop me from reaching that peak.

Standing at the top, I wept with pride and sheer exhilaration in spite of myself. Even though I¹m tethered to a safety system, make no mistake: walking across a 60-metre long suspension bridge between that mountain's two spires and then standing 600 dizzying metres above the valley floor with sheer drop offs in every direction is completely humbling. Once the tears stopped, though, elation set in, which I think is fairly accurately captured in this image.
