I was out this morning with a group from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife trapping the endangered Salt Marsh Harvest Mouse. The mouse lives in salt marshes primarily in the San Francisco Bay Area. The study was repeating work done in 1978 to see how the mouse is doing at Don Edwards National Wildlife Refuge in Newark, CA. The mouse is only a few inches long but has a beautiful brown coat.
