My second Burt Bacharach tribute post…

Burt Bacharach’s theme music, performed by Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass, for 1967’s ‘Casino Royale’ has, over the years, become a go-to track for whenever I am in a bleak mood and need cheering up. And it works every time.

Now if you haven’t seen this film you might look at this credit sequence and see names like Peter Sellers, Ursula Andress, David Niven, Orson Welles, Debora Kerr, Woody Allen, Jean Paul Belmondo, John Huston, Barbara Bouchet, Nicolas Roeg, Richard Williams, Dusty Springfield and think - wow - is this greatest movie of all time???

Short answer? Not quite, but it has its moments. And the soundtrack fucking rocks.

(NB: I love that the film has SIX directorial credits and two of them are for Val Guest.)
