"I woke up this morning to a simple text message: B.B. King died. Without a second thought, I immediately went to his blues club in Times Square to pay my respects. It was early and, with the exception of a few TV crews, there was no one there yet. The moment I walked up, they started changing the club's marquee to read 'Rest in Peace.' B.B. King gave something irreplaceable to the world. I could go on and on about him but honestly, Eric Clapton said it best in his Facebook tribute this morning: 'He was a beacon for all of us who loved this kind of music, and I thank him from the bottom of my heart.'
