An auspicious day for weddings as this is the third one I've witnessed here at Shimogamo Shrine. Bride and groom are decked out in traditional wedding kimono and sheltered from the rain with paper parasol as they walk in procession to the altar where they will receive blessings from a Shinto priest. Only close family members, the matchmaker (Nakodo) and of course a photographer are invited to the ceremony. #kyoto #japan #wedding @thephotosociety @natgeocreative
