Had a good meeting with our Honorary Consuls-General (HCGs) before lunch. They represent Singapore in the cities they live in, where there are no Singapore missions. They deal with consular matters, and render valuable assistance to Singaporeans who need help while overseas.
Was happy to see so many of them back to join our SG50 celebrations. Their dean, Mr Joseph Salim Habis (shaking hands with me) has been HCG in Beirut for 41 years! Thank you all for your service and contribution to Singapore! - LHL (MCI Photo by Chwee)
