An #Armenian Christian woman during an Easter #Mass at the restored Sourp Giragos Church in #Diyarbakir, Turkey. The church, which was closed down during the 1915 Armenian genocide, was reopened after extensive renovation in 2011 that was supported by the predominantly Kurdish municipal government. Nearly 1.5 million Armenians died at the hands of the Ottoman Empire in 1915, but Turks by and large do not believe mass killings were planned.
