The Delhi Fire Service is one of the most active fire departments in the world, with more than 5,000 emergency calls in the summer. Many of those calls are from unauthorized slums, where traffic jams and densely populated blocks make it hard to put out raging fires. Photographer Ryan Lobo celebrates the brave efforts of the Delhi firemen, showing them as under-appreciated heroes who face immeasurable odds to save lives.
