You know the saying perspective is everything? How 'bout if we all start looking at cat's paws with claws like they are super cool and actually quite awesome. How 'bout if we all start appreciating how important claws and healthy, intact paws are for us cats. The cat people and vets in the UK and 27 other countries who have banned declawing have got the right perspective. They even have new sofas, favorite rugs, babies with soft skin, and immune compromised people and guess what…they could NEVER ever fathom doing such a thing to a cat’s paws and claws. So, come on my friends, help me spread the word that declawing just isn’t right and it’s so not cool. Help me teach people who are afraid of our claws, and actually think they are dangerous, to be strong and know that everything can be ok with us keeping them. Let’s all be a part of North American feline history and help to make a more compassionate and healthy cat world where no cats have to go through such a cruel procedure that causes a lifetime of pain and suffering. (Ask the AVMA why they CONDEMN declawing in exotic cats) Let’s start a new perspective and reality that leaves no wiggle room for excuses or reasons to declaw a cat and that the only time a veterinarian performs a surgical procedure is when they are trying to save or help a cat’s life and not take off a part of its body that is so important to its health and well being.
