Today I spent the day walking in the shoes of Mama Jane. The women in her community in the Maasai Mara walk a kilometer to fill a plastic container with dirty water and walk it back to their homes. The one I carried back weighed fifty pounds. Mama Jane usually carried two at a time.. Five or six times a day. Only women do this chore. Thanks to @freethechildren the women in this community now have a fresh water supply where they live and so now girls have the time to go to school. #girlseducation #cleanwater #improvedhealth #kenya
