Elizabeth St. NYC ❤️ when I moved to New York in the early 80's I stumbled upon Elizabeth street and fell in love with Little Italy and it's cast of characters. I walked the pavement looking for an apartment on that block. I didn't get anywhere until one day I was in the Tony Shafrazi Gallery on Mercer Street and I bumped into a friend and of course I asked him if he knew of any apartments and he told me that the apartment next-door to him on Elizabeth Street was available. I called the landlord and he didn't even know it was available I ran down to Chinatown met with the landlord that day and the rest is history.... Frankie who grew up on Elizabeth St. is gone but he had he best vintage store - he would go way out in Brooklyn shopping (when no one went to Brooklyn) and find amazing clothes - one piece I loved ( as we were neighbors, he shopped with me in mind ?) a light blue suede Yve St. Laurent skirt with 6 inches of fringe to the knee ? ...I traded it with Kate Moss for a Chanel sparkly skirt that I still wear #memories #roots #meandro #elizabethstreetnyc - ?robin
