130,000 years ago humanity’s first painters slept under a sky like this. The stretch of South African coast East of Cape Town contains the oldest evidence of Human artistic endeavor. While I was camped there photographing archeological digs for @ナショナルジオグラフィック last winter it struck me how little the sky has changed since those first artists looked up at them.
