The Sudanese civil war had taken Ben's parents then a poisonous snake had stolen his right arm. The young mans composure and bravery in the face of those losses amazed me. One thing my travels I Africa have taught me is that compassion, love and perseverance can overcome most of lifes hardships. And that people are wonderfully resilient.
