Almaty pulsates with a big, warm heart, which welcomed me just like a big, hearty family. The people there kept telling me we had been lucky, because the weather was sunny, and in fact the whole week I spent there was characterized by a deep-blue sky and a shining sun. The boulevards in Almaty were lined with yellow trees, and the wind was blowing the first leaves away.
