Dima Markov (@dcim.ru) takes photographs of the people and social issues close to his heart. “I like photographing the elderly, the homeless and the street kids,” Dima says. “I want to show how beautiful and unique they are.” Living in the northwestern city of Pskov, Russia, Dima works with disabled children and volunteers for organizations that support orphaned children. He is also a newspaper journalist and professional photographer. On Instagram, Dima challenges himself to make beautiful portraits with his phone of the people of Pskov he encounters everyday. “I like photographing social problems and the ordinary people. I try to see the uniqueness in weird places — in the countryside, at the streets, at the markets and the railway stations.”
