I was asked a while ago why I post #somethingpink everyday for #breastcancerawarenessmonth and I never got the chance to answer. I lost my grandma to breast cancer when I was very little. She was one of the wisest, kindest, most eccentric people I've ever known and so ahead of her time. What I remember of her is magical and the stories I hear are downright hysterical. I miss her very much along with everyone who has known her. I take comfort in the fact that I can truly say she lived a long and happy life. In the end, she said she was okay because she wanted to be with grandpa again. Like what my grandma would always say, "Que sera sera" (whatever will be will be). I can't change what happened to my grandma, but I can help by spreading awareness and making sure people get checked that it doesn't happen to anyone else's loved ones.
