For #throwbackthursday, today I remember Jake. Three years ago tomorrow, we had to say goodbye to this cuddle bug after a yearlong battle with bone cancer. He was 11 years old when we lost him, and he was truly my best friend. I will never forget the day I met him in 2000, and he will always have a special place in my heart. We adopted Ben and Desmond at a time when we knew Jake didn't have much time left, but we didn't expect to say goodbye three days after we brought them home. I always like to think he hung on for as long as he could and let go when he knew we would be ok. Love you buddy. Rest in peace. ??? #tbt #rip
