Photo by @paulnicklen. Currently, about 35,000 walrus in Arctic waters have come ashore due to the lack of sea ice caused by a warming climate. Walrus need the ice to haul out and rest as they cannot swim indefinitely. Stampedes occur when on shore, and many young are killed because of it. It is time for the world to take notice and take action to address the root causes of climate change.
