I'm so very sad. It's like a nightmare. I'm trying to be positive because I feel I HAVE too.
Lately, I've noticed that Zimba has not been feeling well. I had a feeling... that "something was not right". His health has changed so quickly. It went from great to not so great in a short period of time. I noticed that he had lost a lot of weight. After he had some tests performed at the vet clinic, I've learned that he has stage 3 kidney disease (four being the worst). .
My mind wonders if there's a slight possibility that he may have consumed something poisonous that could've caused the disease since he's an outdoor cat - it's common for cats to be outdoors here in the Swedish countryside. Regardless, it doesn't change the fact that he has kidney disease; a disease that is progressive therefore not curable.

This came as a shock to me because he has always been the happiest healthiest cat on the planet yet the sudden change in his health came on all so suddenly. .
We are going to do eeeeeeverything in our power to slow down the the progression of the disease. We have contacted an ethologist, behavioral scientist and dietician that is going to help us.

15 years ago Zimba was abandoned by his mother and was found in a stable. We brought him home and gave him such a wonderful life. We have been through... a lot together! There is noooooothing I wouldn't do for him. And when I say nothing, I mean NOTHING!
