เดือนกรกฎาคมปีนี้ เป็นเดือนที่มีวันสำคัญทางพุทธศาสนาถึง 2 วัน และหนึ่งในนั้นคือวันอาสาฬหบูชาค่ะ วันอาสาฬหบูชาตรงกับวันขึ้น 15 ค่ำเดือน 8 หรือตรงกับวันที่ 11 กรกฎาคมของปีนี้ มีความสำคัญคือเป็นวันที่พระพุทธเจ้าทรงแสดงปฐมธรรมเทศนาแก่ปัญจวัคคีย์ทั้ง 5 และมีพระสงฆ์รูปแรกเกิดขึ้น ทำให้พระพุทธศาสนามีพระรัตนตรัยครบ 3 ประการ ได้แก่ พระพุทธ พระธรรม และพระสงฆ์ค่ะ

ในวันอาสาฬหบูชา กิจกรรมทางศาสนาจะถูกจัดขึ้นที่วัดทั่วประเทศไทย พุทธศาสนิกชนนิยมไปทำบุญที่วัด พร้อมทั้งฟังเทศน์ฟังธรรมโดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งพระธรรมเทศนาธัมมจักกัปปวัตนสูตร และพุทธศาสนิกชนนิยมเวียนเทียนในช่วงเย็นค่ะ การบินไทยขอเชิญชวนให้ทุกท่านงดเว้นอบายมุข ทำจิตใจให้บริสุทธิ์ผ่องใส่รับบุญในวันหยุดยาวด้วยนะคะ

This July has two important Buddhist festivals, and one of them is Asaha Puja Day. The first full moon of the eighth lunar month marks Asaha Puja Day and this year it falls on 11 July. This was the day when the lord Buddha or Guatama Buddha gave the initial sermon to five participants, and one of them asked to enter the monkhood, making him the first monk of Buddhism. This event marked the completion of the 3 jewels of Buddhism which are Buddha, his teachings and the monkhood.

On this day, religious ceremonies will be held at temples around Thailand and Buddhists usually make merit and listen to sermon, especially the first sermon given by the Lord Buddha. In the evening, they also join in “Vien Tien” ceremony to recognize the 3 jewels of Buddhism. THAI would like to invite you to omit all vice behaviors, and also keep your mind pure and peaceful.
