Check out this months Nat Geo story about China‘s Supercaves, photo by @CarstenPeter : here you see the second largest cave chamber in the world - Miao chamber - half a mile long with tiny persons in the frame and two more in boats (Tim & Jane Allen, Mike Warner) in the background, probably hardly to see in the tiny screen. The scale is enourmos. A british-chinese caving team around Andy Eavis made incredible #3D-laser #scans and you can have a fly through in that chamber, realistic like never seen before (check the nat geo iPad app or website). For the scanning we needed three days in 16 locations (Andi, Daniela Pani and Richard Walters), but even more time to postprocess.
