Daydreaming in the cockpit, as the summit of #Nanga Parbat (8,126 metres / 26,660 ft), meaning "The Naked Mountain", unveils itself. The 9th highest #peak in the world, it is nicknamed the killer mountain for its fierce challenges. It was first climbed by Austrian climber Hermann Buhl, in 1953, during an epic ascent. Much like K2, it was never climbed in winter, although 22 expeditions have tried this feat up till 2014. These are some of the toughest mountains around… I can certainly feel that when I pass them, flying from Islamabad to Skardu, on my way to North #Pakistan.
