@argonautphoto (Aaron Huey) setting up my installation of #Sherpa summit photos at the #TellurideMountainFilm festival today! I'm showing 100 of these photos tomorrow, along with images I made on assignment for National Geographic magazine for a story we will publish later this year. The world is used to seeing the victorious poses of Western climbers atop these peaks, but the Sherpas' summit photos are seldom seen. Sometimes their names are not even known by the very clients whose lives depend on them. But Sherpas, too, celebrate and bring these images back to their families to remember their experience on the mountain.
Perhaps by sharing these moments we can begin to see that the world does not revolve around us.
